3 Ways to Re-Discover Your Souls Memory

Many moons ago I was a top level competitive gymnast.

I had muscles galore. So much so that my nick name in high school was The Incredible Hulk and thunder thighs from my gym coach just to name a few. I embraced it on the outside with uncomfortable laughter and totally disliked it on the inside.

I would try to hide my muscle definition when possible. Which meant I was really hiding from my truth I felt on the inside.

Now as I approach 54, I embrace the beauty of ALL my muscles. I honor them and am proud to show off my defined arms. I am proud that I have the ability to still be strong on the outside as well as on the inside too. I am grateful that I am able to be this age and enjoy life to it's fullest. I am grateful that I was blessed to be able to birth two beautiful children. I am grateful for all aspects of my body. Even the parts that according to society are imperfect.

But for many years I didn't respect my body the way I should. Fear of past experiences held me back from valuing it the way I should. Respecting it because it's mine and no one else's choice. As many of you know on January first of this year I set out to rediscover the strength of my body and the opportunity to transform it to the place it belongs. My true me.

I have worked so hard the past few years on making my soul memory happy it was now time to make my outer self reflect how I felt on a soul level. Transformations take time and work best when you begin slowly to implement these new practices in your life. Add small subtle shifts one day at a time until they become habitual and part of your new way of living. Old habits are hard to break.

New ways of thinking about how I eat and what I eat plus a more consistent workout schedule. (only 2-3 days a week for a heavy workout and walking on others). I began to see the realization of when I worked out the definition comes back quickly. I realized your muscles have memory.

Just like your soul. Your soul remembers its beginning. When you begin to do the work you can bring back the strength of your soul's memory. When you have the tools and you fall back (cuz you will and it's OK) you know how to bring yourself back quicker.

It remembers its definition. Whatever your definition is, whatever your belief system is you can bring it back to life. You can begin to honor your true being and be proud of who you are on the inside as well as on the outside.

Just like a balance beam. If you don't have the proper balance you will fall. In life, if you don't have the proper balance ...you will fall. You always get back up but wouldn't it be great to not have to fall so often and when you do to get back up quicker?

Our souls consist of energy and all of our life's experiences. We carry this energy with us through our entry here into the world, collect more energy (aka life experiences), and we take that energy with us when we transition back to our beginnings.

No matter your belief system, you can feel when 'life' is off kilter.

This is your instinctual inner GPS system telling you-you are off track and you need to get back on the right road or you may end up at a dead end street. Stuck with no place to go.

Your inner guidance system knows what it should do but your intellectual side always seems to think it knows better. This is what they call your ego. Your ego can be a bully. It's the biggest 'creeper' around. It has this ability to creep right into your mind the moment you don't need it the most. It is the voice that tells you: you are not good enough, you are fat, you are not lovable, you are not worthy, you have bad luck, shall I go on. What is your ego telling you? But the bigger question is 'why do you listen'? Why do we listen to the voice over our GPS aka our intuition?

Just like the muscles in your body, by training you can bring them back to the strength of your youth, you can train your soul's memory back to a place of peace. It's going to take work, I cannot lie. At times it may not be easy. But if you want the results that I believe you are searching for you have to know you are worth the effort.

You have to believe that what awaits you on the other side of that wall that you have built up is worth discovering.

People tend to shy away from new beginnings. For many reasons. They think they feel comfortable. They think they feel content or complete. There may be a fear of what's to come, what they may have to face, it's too much work, I'm fine the way I am. STOP with the excuses and simply begin right now at this moment. Make this commitment to yourself. Clear out the cobwebs and get to the fun stuff.

Life is meant to be loved. Not just lived.

Begin with me. I'll help you find your way back to stability.

Here are 3 quick ways to get yourself back into alignment and re-discover the memory of your soul.

1. Find Joy: As simple as this may sound many of us do not achieve this on a daily basis. What do you do for fun? What makes you laugh? What ignites your soul fueled by passion. When you do more of what you love your souls energy embraces this feeling. You illuminate the beauty of love and begin to attract more of it into your life.

2. Live in a consistent state of Gratitude: You have heard this over and over again. There is a reason for that. We need to be constantly reminded to do this. Be grateful for all that you have! You were brought to my page for a reason and this is a great way to begin to change your life in a new direction. Whether you feel you are on the wrong path or the right path there is always room to learn and grow. Look around you. What do you see? Do you appreciate all of life's gifts that have been given to you? Even the trying moments in your life, the difficulties and maybe even the tragedies? We are constantly given gifts of opportunities to become the best version of ourselves. By thanking your higher power (Angels, God, Buddha, Universe, etc) for these blessings no matter how small or how big, you will begin to feel a shift in your energy which is a shift in the universe where you will begin to grow from within and really appreciate all life has to offer. You are blessed. <3

3. Begin a Spiritual Practice: Choose one simple way to begin. Commit to completing this task just a few times a week. Don't make your commitment so difficult that you almost stop before you begin. Here are a few ways to ease into building a solid foundation to grow upon.

  • Find a quiet place where you can simply sit for one minute in stillness. Close your eyes and listen to your breath. Be grateful that you are breathing and listen to it as you breathe in and breathe out. Take deeper breaths and shorter breaths. Feel your stomach rise as you breath. Focus on what your body is doing and feeling as you simply enjoy the breath of life.

  • Begin to journal. I don't know what to write you say? Pick the first word that comes to your mind. Write that word on the paper. What does this word mean to you? How does it make you feel? How does this word affect you and your life? Allow your pen to be guided with your thoughts as you begin to tap into your intuition. Searching for more guidance on how to journal? • Create an I am statement. It is really simple and extremely effective. Make it one statement that you really want to believe or simply need to be reminded of. I am love. Repeat it throughout the day. Feeling stressed" Repeat. Feeling sad? Repeat it. Feeling loved! Scream it from the rooftop! Try this exercise and change your life in seven days.
